secrets to tell you

Listen. Put on morning.
Waken into falling light.

{I still don't know the name of the roses, but they go on blooming all the same}

"The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
                                  Don't go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
                                  Don't go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
                                   where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
                                  Don't go back to sleep."

C O D A

Perhaps to love is to learn
to walk through this world.
To learn to be silent
like the oak and the linden of the fable.
To learn to see.
Your glance scattered seeds.
It planted a tree.
I talk
because you shake its leaves.

A couple of mornings ago.  Light.  Learning (always learning) to be silent.
