miss no opportunity

"Now the snow has covered everything.

I think we will be made clean like the snow
I think we will become new like the snow"

Listening to the Innocence Mission here. Wanted to share their song, snow, but can only find the lyrics on the web.

This is the tree in my backyard neighbour's yard. In the afternoon the sun strikes it and lights it up, green and silver, and it seems that the snow becomes pure light.

"When enlightenment arrives
don't talk too much about it;
just live it in your own way."

"The fragrance of blossoms soon passes;
the ripeness of fruit is gone in a twinkling.
Our time in this world is so short,
better to avoid regret;
Miss no opportunity to savour the ineffable."

"Sit quietly behind your wooden door:
Spring will come again."

- Loy Ching Yuen

Back to the little forest, where the melting snow turned into shiny crystal and light, which made for some lovely bokeh.

I've always loved the word: ineffable.

ineffable |inˈefəbəl|adjectivetoo great or extreme to be expressed or described in words: the ineffable natural beauty of the Everglades.• not to be uttered

“Everything in the world began with a yes. One molecule said yes to another molecule and life was born.”

Clarice LispectorThe Hour of the Star

The world goes on saying yes.

The snow says yes, the light says yes.

Every leaf and twig says yes.

I imagine that yes is the only living thing.

e. e. cummings
